PERU Team Wins First Place at International Mathematical Olympiad of the Southern Cone-MACEIO-BRAZIL
Peru grabbed gold and silver medals at the 29th Mathematical Olympiad of the Southern Cone held in Maceio City on August 24-28. Congratulations to the PERU team: The national delegation was composed of 15-to-16-year-old students from Saco Oliveros School: Daniel Benavides, Joseph Altamirano, Eduardo Llamoca, and Renzo Balcazar. Benavides and Altamirano got perfect scores (20 points) by solving all the math problems, thus claiming gold medals. On the other hand, the team's youngest members Llamoca and Balcazar grabbed silver.
BRAZIL OCCUPIED THE SECOND PLACE, ARGENTINA THIRD PLACE.
