Steklov Mathematical Institute Seminar

About the Institute
The scientific history of the Institute goes back to 1921 when—at the initiative of V. A. Steklov—the Institute of Physics and Mathematics was established. After V. A. Steklov's death in 1926 the Institute was given his name. In 1932, the Institute of Physics and Mathematics was divided into two independent Departments, the Mathematics Department headed by Academician I. M. Vinogradov and the Physics Department headed by Academician S. I. Vavilov. On April 28, 1934, at the general meeting of the Division of Mathematical and Natural Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, a decision was made to transform the Departments of the Steklov Institute of Physics and Mathematics into independent Institutes, the Steklov Mathematical Institute and the Lebedev Physical Institute. Ivan Matveevich Vinogradov and Sergei Ivanovich Vavilov became the Directors of these new founded Institutes.
As a structural unit of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Steklov Mathematical Institute is a part of Division of Mathematical Sciences of RAS. The Institute is working under scientific, methodological and organizational leadership of the Division of Mathematical Sciences of RAS

Pondremos a disposición de los internautas, un conjunto de libros en su versión electrónica que, ya sea por su contenido, por la época de nuestras vidas en que los hemos leido o por el impacto que nos causaron, los hacen inolvidables, con especial énfasis en la dilatada obra del escritor ruso Yakov Perelman. Uno es enteramente responsable de sus gustos, y dependiendo del contexto o de la edad o de otras circunstancias muy diversas, obras relativamente menores, pueden terminar gatillando emociones, tanto o más poderosas que obras maestras. Hemos mantenido la forma y estilo de ellos, no hemos hecho ningún cambio en el texto, solo los hemos modificado en aquellos aspectos necesarios para hacerlos más navegables. La página la hemos diseñado en forma extremadamente sencilla para que sea fácil su navegación, permitiendo a su vez bajar el documento completo como archivo PDF, para un disfrute posterior.
